Amherst 10 Miles of Hills

GLRR takes over McMurphy's Tavern

First up on the Grand Prix Circuit was the Amherst 10 Miler in February out in, well, Amherst.  The infamous hills were there waiting for the sixty four of us who ventured out to Western Mass to run them.

Our first runner across the line was British import Justin Daglish in 1:01:43.  Our first woman was Sarah Moseley in 1:10:24.  David Oliver and John Barbour went 1-2 in the 60-69 age group.  Adding the ageless Bill Dixon the Vets team once again made mincemeat of the competition -- this time by almost 20 minutes.

The rest of the teams put in a solid showing.  The Women's Seniors team of Maureen Pellegrini, Liane Pancoast, and Madeline Febo was the next highest with a 5th place finish.  Men's Seniors (Oliver, EJ Hrynowski, Barbour, Dixon, and Kevin Christie) were 6th best on the day.  Both the Men's and Women's Masters teams finished 8th, the Open Women finished 11th, and the Open Men finished 17th.
