Sunday I donned my pink singlet and headed down to Cambridge for An Ras Mor -- the opening race of the NE Runner Pub Series.  Yep, you heard that right.

Team Fab was started 7 years ago by Kate Maslowski.  She ran Paddy's with her mom (GLRR HoFer Sue) and thought it was fun, especially the free beer after.  She created the team trying to convince her friends to come out and join her for the races and beers.  Her roommate Katie Proccacini would only join the team if there were shirts, which required a team name.  After throwing around some ideas around 'Team Fabulous' was born.  The "In it for the beer" slogan was a natural for the front.

Given Kate's GLRR roots, it was inevitable that there would be some melding with Team Fabulous.  In addition to mom Sue and sister Ally, Hall of Famers Liane Pancoast and Patty Foltz joined up.  High school friend Candice Gagnon joined up and took home a tie for the 2014 title.  Bethany Knoetter and Katie Gessler joined up in 2014 as well.

But could us guys let the ladies have all the fun?  Well we should have, but didn't.  Dave, Andrew, Denny, and I donned fresh Team Fabulous pink singlets for the 2015 Wind Tunnel An Ras Mor 5K.

Candice continued to rack up Pub Series points, netting 47 with a 4th place finish.  Trying to stay with her netted Dave a shiny new PR in 19:13 and 2 open points (1 masters).  Liane had a successful return from injury to net 15 points -- 7 for seniors.  Bethany outraced all the 14 year olds for 7 points in the open.  Age group correction gave her 4 masters points as well.  Denny was 4th 70+ for 4 points and first to the beer tent.


"Overall Team Fab has been a very special experience.  I've met so many great people from so many walks of life.  Our team spans every level, gender and age range," says Kate.
